Studio Arts Learning Aims
As artist-scholars, visual arts majors with a studio arts concentration will demonstrate:
- The ability to express ideas rigorously through reasoned argument and creative production, supported by textual and/or technical research.
- Command of the critical vocabulary of analysis, including the histories and material production of visual images.
- Interdisciplinary approaches to visual arts practices and scholarship, integrating philosophical, historical, scientific, and professional contexts.
- The cognitive skills of innovation, verbal acuity, and creative problem solving associated with a mastery of the visual arts as history, theory, and studio practice.
