Pre-Law Society

Pre-Law Trip 11-3-22 - Cropped

The Pre-Law Society is composed of individuals who share a common interest in the field of law. The Pre-Law Society is open to all students interested in the study of law, even if they are not "pre-law" and do not plan on going to law school. The organization meets several times a semester and offers speakers (lawyers, judges, law students, Loyola alums, etc.), field trips (local courts, D.C.), movie nights, workshops (LSAT Preparation, Personal Statement, Applying to Law School, etc.), and a mentoring program.

Sophia Capone President
I am honored to serve my second year as President of Loyola’s Pre-Law Society. As a senior Political Science major with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, I am passionate about creating opportunities for students to explore the legal profession and discover the many paths available to them. During my time as President, I have focused on expanding professional development, mentorship, service, and networking opportunities through guest speakers, law school visits, the Peer Mentoring Program, and community involvement throughout Baltimore. In my second year as President, I hope to continue growing the Pre-Law Society into a welcoming and supportive community where students can connect with one another, learn from legal professionals, and feel confident exploring their future careers.

Katelyn Khov Treasurer
Hi! I’m Katelyn and I have the pleasure of being this year’s Treasurer for Loyola’s Pre-Law Society. I’m in my third year with a focus in Political Science and Communication and Media, with a specialization in Advertising and Public Relations. As Treasurer, I’m excited to further strengthen the Pre-Law community, while maintaining the academic prestige of the organization. I hope to expand the opportunities for members to learn and understand diverse career paths in law. I intend to enrich and build strong connections within the Pre-Law Society community, but also incorporate academic relationships with other clubs for supporting events. The greatest aspect of the Pre-Law Society is that it is never limited to only those who are definite about going to law school. This organization welcomes all majors and all uncertainties, and I intend to maintain and cherish this sentiment.

Brianne Krutz Secretary
As Secretary of Loyola’s Pre-Law Society and a junior Political Science major with a minor in Sociology, I have been focused on strengthening the organization’s communication and building a more intentional presence both online and within the club. I have taken the lead on reworking our Instagram by developing new content, filming and editing videos, and launching our Campus Court series. I have also been creating informational posts that make pre-law feel more approachable and show that there is no single major or path students have to follow to pursue law. Another part of my role has been gathering feedback directly from members and using it to help shape future programming. Through polls and question boxes, I have been tracking what students are most interested in and saving that information so we can plan events around actual member needs. LSAT preparation has been one of the strongest areas of interest, which is especially meaningful to me because I recently began my own LSAT studying journey. Moving forward, I plan to keep expanding the Instagram based on what students actually want to see, while also using that feedback to help shape future programming and create more opportunities for members to feel involved in the organization.

Keira Rosario Vice President
I am excited to serve as Vice President of Loyola’s Pre-Law Society this year. As a senior majoring in Global Studies with minors in Political Science and Peace and Justice Studies, I am passionate about examining public policy, systemic change, and advocacy within a global framework. My primary goal on the executive board is to create engaging, accessible opportunities for students exploring a future in law, whether they are set on law school or simply curious about the field. Because the legal profession thrives on diverse backgrounds and interdisciplinary thinking, I am committed to expanding our outreach across campus to ensure students from all majors feel welcome and represented. Throughout this year, I look forward to working closely with our board to deliver firsthand learning opportunities, connect members with hands-on service initiatives, and foster an inclusive community where everyone feels empowered to pursue their passions.
