Loyola partners with Baltimore City Public Schools for teacher development and training

51¶ÌÊÓÆµâ€™s School of Education is partnering with Baltimore City Public Schools to offer programming for their teachers, staff, and administrators. The partnerships will help address critical shortages in several in-demand areas.
"Loyola is fully committed to Baltimore City Public Schools and the communities," said Afra Ahmed Hersi, Ph.D., dean of the School of Education. "This multi-year partnership directly addresses the staffing challenges Baltimore City schools face today by developing the teachers, coaches, and leaders who make a difference in children's lives every single day."
Loyola’s partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools will offer education in the following areas: Master of Arts in Teaching (Initial Teacher Certification), (Special Education Certification), Literacy Reading Specialist (Reading Specialist Certification), Literacy Teacher: Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations (ESOL Certification), and Educational Leadership (Master of Education and Post-Master’s Certificate).
